🌦 What to Do About Swim Lessons in Bad Weather
Here’s how weather-related cancellations and rescheduling work, summarized from our Terms & Conditions.
âś… When You Can Cancel for Weather
You may cancel a lesson if conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, including:
- Cold and rainy weather
- Lightning or thunderstorms
- Dangerous or extremely inclement weather
Note: High temperatures (heat alone) are not considered a valid reason to cancel due to weather.
⏰ How Much Notice Is Needed
- Weather-related cancellations: Please contact your instructor at least 3 hours before the lesson start time.
- Non-weather cancellations: Require 24 hours’ notice.
If a lesson is canceled without proper notice, the lesson time may be rescheduled or forfeited at the instructor’s discretion.
🔄 Rescheduling Your Lesson
- Lessons canceled with proper notice or due to weather can be rescheduled with your instructor.
- Each lesson package includes up to 2 rescheduled lessons. Additional reschedules may result in forfeiting that lesson time.
- Group lessons: Reschedules are allowed only if the entire group agrees to reschedule and does so at least 24 hours before the lesson. If an individual misses a group lesson, that lesson is forfeited.
Our instructors often pre-book new lesson packages right after current ones. Limiting reschedules helps everyone stay on track.
📞 What to Do if Bad Weather Happens
- Check the forecast a few hours before your lesson.
- Decide if it’s safe: Rain, lightning, or dangerous conditions are valid reasons to cancel.
- Contact your instructor directly at least 3 hours before the lesson if you need to cancel.
- Coordinate a new time with your instructor (within your package’s reschedule allowance).
When in doubt, message your instructor—if conditions are borderline, they’ll help make the call.
✨ Bottom Line
If the weather makes swimming unsafe (rain, lightning, or dangerous conditions), you can cancel with 3+ hours’ notice and reschedule your lesson. Heat alone doesn’t qualify for a weather cancellation.
